Information For Car Riders

All children who are transported to school in a car are to be let out and picked up in front of the school. (To ensure the safety of all children, no child is permitted in the parking lot.) Be sure the children enter and exit from the right side of the vehicle at the curb. Please do not double park. If you need to leave your car, park in the parking lot, not in the driveway. You need to drive to the curb to load your student. When you enter the premises, follow the cones and proceed slowly to the curb. Students are to be let out in front of the school and report to the Welcome Center immediately. Students are not allowed on campus before 8:00 a.m.

Rainy Day Procedure

Dismissal may be delayed on rainy days. Please be flexible. Parents will be required to sign out their child during 30/30 dismissals.

Emergency Dismissal

Please be sure to fill out and return the Student Emergency Information Form. A new form is required each year, and the school should be notified promptly if this information changes during the school year. If you do not have a home phone please provide us with an emergency contact person and their phone number.

Early Dismissal - Parent Request

There is NO provision for early release at Orlo Vista. The only exception is for a doctor's appointment that could not be scheduled at any other time. If this is the case, please notify the teacher in writing, so your child is not at PE or specials. Come into the office to sign your child out and he/she will be called from class. KEEP THESE EMERGENCIES TO A MINIMUM. They do disrupt the teaching/learning process in the classroom. DO NOT GO TO THE CLASSROOM until you have received a VISITOR'S PASS from the front office. To insure the safety and security of our students we may be asking for identification before releasing a child. Avoid picking up children the last thirty minutes of class time. It impacts the teaching/learning process in the classroom. No student will be released to any person other than the parent/legal guardian or the names of individual(s) parents have listed on the Student Emergency Information Form. Written notification is required to release a child to anyone other than the legal guardians.

Change in Transportation

A written note is required if you change your child's method of transportation. If you call the school to change your child's normal transportation, you will be required to give the school a code to verify your identity. We will not all students to alter their normal routine without one of these procedures.
